Garmin Universal 5-Inch Carrying Case

I bought this for my Garmin nuvi 2595 (5 inch screen). I realized it was a bit expensive but I thought why not buy a nice case made for the unit and not have to worry. Well, it isn’t worth it. The unit is very snug inside the case, almost too snug. There isn’t that much padding (it is not a hard shell case by any means) and for protection there is only elastic on the short sides, although the leather does overhang a bit. On the front side the leather is doubled when closed, but the back is only one thickness. It seems normal to put the unit in with the screen up, so that is where the better protection is. I think this case is fine if it then goes directly into a bag or purse. But I am not sure what would happen if it were dropped, probably OK, maybe not. Of course there is no storage for all of the other bits and pieces for the unit, which I prefer to have as I travel and plan to bring the unit along. I am looking for a better solution for storage and transport of my new GPS. It is some bother to return this one but I think it will be worth it. I have ordered the ‘Lowepro 5.0 Navi Shield, Black’ by Lowepro, found on Amazon. It looks like it will be a better overall solution…

But it isn’t. It is well made and fits the GPS fine, but it is a bit crammed to get the cord and all the rest inside. Also, the suction cup piece does not fit, it is too high either way one puts it in, so closing the case causes some strain on the zipper.

This case is fine for the GPS unit but there is no room for storage of cables or anything else.

Nice sophisticated looking hard leather case that snug fit an comfortable 5-Inch Garmin Nuvi-1450LMT and also a nice Garmin Logo on the outside of the case. I would highly recommended this case and the seller to a friend.

This case fits my Garmin Nuvi perfectly, looks nice, and is stiff enough to protect it well. What more could you ask for? But don’t plan to pack anything else in the case – it’s a snug fit for the Nuvi.

This case fits the 5″ form-factor Garmin GPS units (I have the 2450) well and seems to be well constructed. The interior is lined so you won’t get scratches on your GPS.

As the 5″ Garmins are too large to fit in a pocket (unless you’re wearing a jacket) it would have been nice if this case had a belt clip or other method you could use to carry it without having to keep it in your hands.

It does what it was made for, which is to protect your GPS. The inside is soft so it won’t scratch the screen. It would be nice if it had a compartment for your charger also…

Bought this to go with my Garmin nüvi 1450LMT 5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map & Traffic Updates, because that product does not come with a case.

Glad I bought a case, but not terribly impressed with this one. It is a very snug fit, but works. I really miss the case design of my previous GPS, where I could slide the GPS in from the side (no flap). This one you must open the flap, squeeze your fingers around the gps, then pull firmly to get it out.

Case design: good quality leather with a protective liner inside. The flap is held in place with velcro. IMO velcro is better than a snap, but not as good as a magnet.

I bought this case to fit my new Garmin GPS, 2460LMT and I’m very happy with the overall quality and construction of this carrying case. My unit slides easily in to the case and I feel confident that it will be protected from accidental drops or hits.

I read reviews where people complained about not being able to fit the suction cup, cord, and other accessories in the case along with the unit? I mean, are you kidding me? That was pretty obvious in the listing if you looked at it prior to ordering. Leave that stuff in the car permanently affixed or mounted and forget about it. This case is designed so the unit can be safely stowed and carried, or put away in a purse so that the unit isn’t stolen from your vehicle. Get real people!

I will agree that I think the price is a little pricey which is the ONLY reason for my 4-Star rating; $10.95-$11.95 would have been a more reasonable price.

I bought this to protect my Garmin nüvi 2555LMT 5″ GPS, & it fits perfectly. I don’t need it to have extra storage space, because I store it in a small carrying shoulder bag along with the car power cord, stand, bean bag, & other related stuff. It has somewhat better protection than my old Garmin case, because his one has a fold-over closing top, whereas the last one was open on one side. It’s sturdy & well made, nice looking, & worth the price to protect the screen from scratches or other damage. It also provides a bit of protection if the Garmin is dropped.

I am very happy with this case and think it’s worth the money ($16) – it’s high quality and easy to use. It holds my Garmin 2460 perfectly snugly. My only complaint is that I keep hitting the power switch to the Garmin when I put it into the case, but that’s a problem with my fingers and the Garmin, not the case.
